“O God, You have taught me from my youth; And to this day I declare Your wondrous works… O God, do not forsake me, until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to everyone who is to come.” Ps. 71:17-18
People all around you desperately need the power of God. They need the power to receive His love, break addictions, restore hope and receive healing for their bodies. Are you willing to be a conduit of this power?
You’ll need to be ordinary. Ordinary? Yes, ordinary people are the only type that He uses. “But, what about Moses who split the Red Sea,” you object, “or Elijah who called down fire from heaven?” They were no different than you. They experienced fear, anger and have a litany of mistakes attached to their legacy. Elijah suffered from depression and suicidal thoughts, but that didn’t stop God. It was His Spirit that released those miracles and that same Spirit is available to you today. God’s not looking for ability, but availability. Here are some big ideas to help you realize that all believers are candidates to demonstrate the power of God.
Jesus’ Secret To Miracles
Jesus Himself never demonstrated any miracles until He was baptized in the Holy Spirit. Immediately after the Matthew 3 account of the Holy Spirit coming upon Him, He began a miracle ministry. Even in death, He was utterly dependent on the Holy Spirit to raise Him from the dead. “If the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you, He will quicken your mortal body.” Rom. 8:11 Did you realize that you have the same Spirit that was in Jesus? If you are filled daily with His Spirit, you are a candidate to demonstrate the power of God.
If you are filled daily with His Spirit, you are a candidate to demonstrate the power of God.

I Am Not Ashamed!
A frequent thought that many people have is, “What will people think if I let God use me?” The Bible calls this the fear of man and Proverbs 14:26 states, “The fear of man brings a trap, but in the fear of the Lord is strong confidence.” Shame or fear of people’s opinions makes cowards of us all. You might ask, “Will they understand if I am bold towards them?” S.W.S.W.S.W. (That’s an acronym for “Some will. Some won’t. So what!”) The Apostle Paul said, “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ for it is the power of God to salvation to all who believe…” Rom. 1:16
Get Started Today
One of the easiest ways to begin demonstrating the power of God is to follow the flow of love. Love is the beginning of compassion. Read Matthew 9:36 and watch how compassion opened up the healing miracles of Jesus. Sometimes during my day, a person’s face comes to my mind, and my heart is flooded with love. Often, I have not seen or talked to them for several years, and I have to chase down their number, but, when I finally do connect with them, there is always a powerful demonstration of God. Sometimes it’s gentle and sometimes it’s bold. Why don’t you try it? Just follow love.
Get Filled With Faith
There is only one place in the Word of God where the word “limit” is mentioned. Ps. 78:41 records the sad reason God couldn’t accomplish more. Why? Because they limited Him with unbelief. The voice of unbelief either says, “God is not able,” or “God is not willing.” This is not the believer’s lifestyle! As a believer, you can be filled with faith by meditating on His Word. Fill your mouth with strong confessions of faith such as, “The Greater One is in me” (I Jn. 4:4), “I have an anointing from the Holy One …” I Jn. 2:20, and “God anointed me with the Holy Ghost, and I will go about today doing good and healing all who are oppressed of the devil, for God is with me.” (Acts 10:38)
People everywhere around you need the love and power of God. Don’t wait until you feel it. Step out by faith and act on the Word. If you do what Jesus did, you will see what Jesus saw, and, just like Jesus, you will demonstrate the power of God.
