Eight Great Confessions of a Believer

To ‘confess’ means to admit to or agree with God. There are actually two types of Bible confession. Most Christians think that confession always means confessing your sin. While confessing your sin is important so you can be forgiven, I’m not referring to the confession of (or admitting to) sin. Another Bible version of confession simply means that you agree with God on any subject. If God says it, then you agree. Here are eight things that God says about every believer. If you’ll begin to confess (agree with God) these eight bold declarations, you’ll soon experience a new realm of victory in your personal life, family, finances, and future.

1. I AM SPIRITUALLY ALIVE

When you accepted Jesus as your personal Savior, your spirit man became alive unto God. That means you have an eternal spirit connected to an eternal God. You’re hooked up to the Source, my friend. Ps. 116:9, Rm. 6:11

2. MY LIFE IS FILLED WITH BORDERS OF PEACE

Right now I want you to imagine your home property, your office building, “your” world. Paint an imaginary line around the border of it and declare that nothing but peace is allowed beyond your borders. I’ve been known to walk to perimeters of our ministry property and declare borders of peace! Ps. 147:14, Lk. 10:5

3. I WALK IN THE FAVOR OF GOD

Favor is when God opens people’s hearts to you. A hesitant sale goes through. You win the scholarship. You get the only promotion offered at work. That’s favor. You don’t need to earn favor. Acts 2:42 says that you already have it! Do you agree with what God says about you? Then, confess favor! Ps. 5:12

4. I WALK BY FAITH AND NOT BY SIGHT

Faith can be defined as “acting upon God’s Word.” When a problem arises, whether physical or financial, you have to make a choice. Will you choose to respond to that dilemma either by what you see or what God’s Word says about it? II Cor. 5:7, II Cor. 4:13

5. I BELIEVE I RECEIVE WHEN I PRAY

Have you ever placed an order over the telephone? When was it legally yours? When you saw it or when you paid for it and hung up the phone? Well, Jesus paid for everything you will ever need at Calvary with His Blood. The moment you say, “Amen,” it’s legally yours and “in the mail.” Mk. 11:23

6. SPEAK THE WORD ONLY

When a Roman centurion asked Jesus for prayer about his sick servant, He turned to walk to his house. “Jesus, you don’t need to come to my house. Just speak the Word and I know that My servant will be healed. What an example of real faith. Is your marriage sick today? Are your finances suffering? Just speak the Word! Mt. 8:10

7. I HAVE A HELPER

Can you admit that you’re dealing with stress right now? Blended families. Endless bills. Absurd schedules? Lack of purpose? I have good news for you. You’re not in this alone. Jesus has sent you a Helper. The Holy Spirit is inside of you with a deep desire to help you bring normalcy and wholeness to your life. Call out to Him and He will put thoughts in your mind and reveal solutions never known before. Jn. 14:16 Amp.

8. I CONFESS THAT JESUS IS LORD

When someone ‘lords’ over you, it refers to a sense of control or supreme influence. Jesus earned the right to be Lord of all at Calvary. He is the supreme ruler over sin, sickness, and all other destructive powers. Whether they like it or not, every knee shall bow and confess that Jesus is Lord. When trouble tries to lord itself over you, confess boldly, “No! You are not my lord. I confess (agree with God) that Jesus is Lord.” Phil. 2:11

When you say what God says about any certain subject, His authority will prevail. Boldly declare these eight great confessions and you’ll be agreeing with God.
